At the Multinational School it is the children’s learning and general well-being that are our priorities. A child cannot learn or realise his/her potential if they are absent or late from school on a regular basis.
We aim to ensure that all of our children take full advantage of the educational opportunities available to them and raise standards by prompting regular attendance and punctuality.
Our desire is to work closely with parents to achieve good attendance. The target attendance for a child is at least 95%. Falling below 90% means that your child will have less chance of success and it will make it significantly harder for them to make progress. We therefore, discourage students from taking leave of absence during term time as this obviously disrupts their education.
It is a fact that being late results in a loss of learning. If your child is late 10 minutes every day this adds up to one week lost each year. Children are deemed late if they are not in class by 7.50am. Children arriving after this time need to sign in at the Reception desk where they will need to give a reason for their lateness. If a parent is accompanying a younger child they are also required to give a reason for their child’s late arrival.
I am sure that you will all understand the need for children to attend school regularly and be punctual.
Other areas in the school that need to be improved upon are the safety and security aspects of students being dropped off or picked up at the school and also gate procedures. Please take note of the following arrangements that have been put in place:
Safety
All pedestrians must use the pedestrian gate to enter and leave the school premises.
The main gate is only for students who arrive by bus and students that are being dropped off in the morning.
In the afternoon the main gate is only to be used by students being picked up by buses or mini-vans. No buses will be allowed to stop outside of the bus lane.
Pedestrian/Main gates
The safety of our students and staff is very important to us and with this in mind we would like to make you aware of the gate procedures that will be enforced as from 11th April 2010
- No visitor will be allowed to enter the school premises without a form of photo identification.
- Visitors entering the school must report to reception.
- All gates will remain closed until five minutes before leaving time at 13:10 and 14:10.
The school will be closing on Wednesday, 31st March 2010 at 13:10 for the end of term break. Students are expected to be back at school on 10th April 2010.
The management wishes all students, parents and staff a pleasant break and a safe return.
