A fully qualified nurse is on duty during the regular school day for any needs, which might arise during the school hours. Should a child become ill, the parents are telephoned and requested to provide transportation for the child to return home. Until transportation arrives, the child will rest in the clinic.
Parents are required to fill out a complete medical report, on registration, giving full details of any medical condition and/or allergies, with details concerning the required form of treatment. A full vaccination history is also required. Medication will not be given to any student without prior parent approval/consent.
If a child is to receive prescribed medication during school hours, a note must be brought to the nurse specifying the name of drug, the dosage, the time and the reason for the administration. The medication must be kept in the nurse’s office for safekeeping.
