Students are encouraged to bring nutritious food packed in a lunch box. The children are allowed a snack at morning break. Lunch is at 11.45am.
Suggestions for snacks are:
- Fruit
- Yoghurt
- Cheese and biscuits/crackers
- Sliced carrot, cucumber, celery etc…
- Dried fruit, sultanas/dates, etc…
- Fruit drink
- Milk drink
- Fruit
- Sandwiches
- Healthy cake or slice e.g. banana bread, carrot cake, muesli slice
- Fruit drink
Foods to avoid are:
- Chocolate
- Candy
- Soda
- Any foods with a high sugar content
- Due to the local climate, foods that spoil easily are not recommended
The school also has a canteen where students can purchase a healthy snack or lunch.
Pizza Inn provides this service. All members of the canteen staff hold a food-handling licence and are subject to regular Health Department checks.
