Internal Assessment
The school uses an ongoing internal assessment program. Teachers keep a record of each student, showing their progress in any or all learning areas. The assessment indicates at what CSF (Curriculum Standards Framework) level the student is at and whether the student is acquiring information at the appropriate level. It can also show areas of strength and weakness and help teachers to plan what should be introduced next.
The school issues individual student reports at the end of the second and third terms. Parents can meet their child’s teacher to discuss their child at the Parent/Teacher meeting during the first and third terms.
External Assessment
Each year the Australian Improvement Monitor Assessment Project (AIM) assesses achievements of Year 3, 5 and 7 students in English and Mathematics. AIM combines teacher assessments with Australian-assessed tasks. These results are reported to the school and to parents. AIM provides student reports to parents as well as extensive statistics on individual progress and school progress bench marked against schools in Victoria.
As the school is accredited with the Victorian Board of Studies, the student assessment is recognized internationally.
